Juvenile Drug Court... A Problem Solving Court
Juvenile Drug Court, a Problem Solving Court, is designed to provide immediate intervention and treatment for high risk/high need juveniles, interrupting the cycle of substance abuse, and delinquent behavior, by creating more opportunities for intervention in health care and expanding support using the justice system resources; to provide positive feedback and incentives for right decisions as they become habitual and repetitive; improve their level of successful functioning in education and the community; to help build skills to aid in leading successful, productive lives into the future..
We are committed to the Juvenile Drug Court program. In order to provide enhanced community protection, the program holds juveniles accountable while providing judicial oversight, intensive supervision, and treatment intervention. The program is an integration of appropriate treatment with legal case processing, ongoing judicial monitoring and intervention, as well as immediate response to participants’ compliance or non-compliance with program rules. Multi-disciplinary involvement within an environment that fosters collaboration among community and governmental agencies is essential to success. Combining these disciplines creates the desired outcome of changing the behavior of court participants … a collaborative regimen of evidence-based treatment services, intensive supervision, and behavioral accountability with the goal of eliminating delinquency and effectively treating family members, as well as the juvenile, empowers the participants to be a contributing, vital member of our community.
