Information from Mosquito Abatement District

The Canyon County Mosquito Abatement District has been trapping for mosquitoes in the county, and has found no mosquitoes that have tested positive for West Nile Virus. District officials would like to inform the public about an urban legend which claims that Listerine is a good product with which to kill mosquitoes. In fact, Listerine has a very high alcohol percentage, and will kill many things it comes in contact with, including landscape plants and flowers. The Mosquito Abatement District recommends that people utilize alternative products for killing mosquitoes, which are registered for mosquito control. Just read and follow the label instructions.
