Sheriff's Office Administration
The Canyon County Sheriff's Office Administration consists of Sheriff Chris Smith, Chief Deputy Gary Deulen, the Office of Professional Standards, Emergency Management, Spillman Applications, Training, Finance, Purchasing and Statistics. Each section in Sheriff's Administration is supervised by a highly trained and experienced Deputy. Each of these units work closely with the other four sections of the Sheriff's Office and strive to provide the highest level of service.

Sheriff Chris Smith has lived in Canyon County
all his life. He has spent nearly 32
years as a professional law enforcement officer and believes that serving the
public is an honorable endeavor. Sheriff
Smith uses his knowledge, experience, and training to manage the Canyon County
Sheriff’s Office to its fullest potential and to keep the citizens of Canyon County
as safe as possible. He believes in
regular communication with local leaders, citizens, and community groups. Sheriff Smith encourages partnerships with
other law enforcement agencies on the local, state, and Federal level.
Chief Deputy Gary Deulen has been in law enforcement since 1981. He has worked for the Caldwell Police Department and the Attorney General's Office before joining our team here at the Sheriff's Office in 2004. Chief Deulen's forward thinking, logical application of ideas and no-nonsense approach to administration are of great benefit to the Sheriff's Office.
