MISSION

Provide friendly, efficient and effective customer service to the citizens of Canyon County and to county offices and departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

AUDITING

The Auditor's Office prepares the county's payroll and manages all accounts receivable and payable. Auditing staff also prepares the county's annual budget and its year-end financial reports.

Comprehensive Annual Financial Report

COURTS

The Clerk provides clerical support for the courts and is responsible for the processing and maintenance of all court case filings. This office provides in-court clerks who support judges in the commission of their duties.

ELECTIONS & PASSPORTS

The Clerk is the Chief Elections Officer for the county. The staff registers voters, maintains a database of registered voters, and conducts county, state and national elections. This office is also an executing agent for passports.

Note: All county candidates must file forms with the Canyon County Elections Office  

 

RECORDER

This Office primarily records documents related to property, but also issues local liquor licenses and marriage licenses.

 

WELFARE

This department carries out the mandates of Idaho law contained in Title 31, Chapters 34 & 35 of the Idaho Code. These laws provide for limited and temporary assistance to county residents for the payment of some non-medical and medical expenses. Assistance from the county is required to be "as a last resort" only. All counties in Idaho, including Canyon County, will require repayment of any taxpayer funds used to assist a county resident under these laws.
