  • $5.00 deposit for all document requests to be paid at the time of the request plus a $3.00 transaction fee if paying by Credit or Debit Card

  • $1.00 fee per copied page
  • $1.00 fee per document for certification
  • $1.00-$2.00 fee if document is mailed (waived if self addressed stamped envelope is sent with business check or money order)
  • $.50 fee per page for conforming documents

  • $10.00 deposit paid at the time of request (plus $3.00 transaction fee if paying with Credit or Debit Card)

  • One CD equals 60 minutes of audio

Payment Information

  • If paying by Credit or Debit Card, please email a good telephone number and the best time to call between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. MST. Please be sure to add as much of the required document information (see above information) as possible in the email. We can then pull the file and advise you on the cost when we call you back. We don’t advise sending credit card information by email.
  • Credit Card: We accept Mastercard and Visa. We will need the card number, billing name, address and the expiration date.
  • Money Order or Business Check: If you do not have a credit card, we will accept a money order or a business check. These may be sent to us with a self addressed stamped envelope to the above address.
  • Cash: accepted for in office pick up.
  • An additional shipping fee of $2.50 is charged for CD’s (to be paid at the time of ordering).

FAQs

Does you office perform record checks or research cases?
No, this office does not perform record checks or research cases.
Are records open to the public?
Our records, with the exception of sealed cases, are open to the public. You may view the records in our office or send someone designated by you to do so. Sealed cases can ONLY be viewed or documents copied if you are a party to the case with current picture ID. Anyone not a party to the case must be approved by the Judge before viewing or receiving document copies.
Is there equipment or someone available to help locate specific cases?
There are public access computer terminals located in Room 201 at the Courthouse for use in locating case numbers filed since 1989.
What about cases filed prior to 1989?
If an individual would like to research cases filed prior to 1989, docket books and microfilm are available.
What about cases filed outside of Canyon County?
There are two websites maintained by the Idaho Supreme Court that are available for public use, which contain information for cases filed in the entire State of Idaho:

Services Provided
– Transcription of Magistrate Court and Grand Jury hearings
– Testimony hearings (as ordered by the District Court)

Request Process
When requesting transcripts, you will need to provide the following information:
– Your Name, address and telephone number
– Case number or Type of Hearing
– Commencement Date of Hearing
– Requested timeline of completion: 30 days, 7 days, 1 day
The estimated cost of requested transcripts will be sent by mail. Processing will commence upon payment to the Transcript Department.

Transcript Fees
– $3.25 per page for transcripts completed in 30 days
– $4.25 per page for transcripts completed in 7 days
– $5.25 per page for transcripts completed in 1 day
