Canyon County Declaration Of Candidacy Forms

Filing Period

All forms for the Primary Election (Partisan and Independent candidates) must be received by the Canyon County Elections office by 5:00pm on March 21, 2008. The Elections office is open between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Magistrate filing forms must be filed by 5:00 p.m. on August 6, 2008.

In addition, all forms establishing a Campaign Treasurer must be submitted to the Canyon County Elections office prior to any funds being raise or expended.

Partisan and Judicial candidates have two options to be placed on the ballot:

• File declaration of candidacy and pay the filing fee or
• File declaration of candidacy and nominating petitions, containing the required number of verified signatures.

Independent candidates must file the declaration of candidacy and nominating petitions. Independent candidates do not pay a filing fee.

Write-In candidates must file for the Primary Election by 5:00 p.m. on May 13, 2008. (Idaho Code: 34-702A)
