Drivers License office to move

The Canyon County Drivers License office will move to a new location next week.

The Motor Vehicles office will remain in its current location, at 6107 Graye Lane.  The Driver’s License Office will remain in the same building, but move to the left, or west side of the building.  Canyon County and Idaho Transportation Department officials will complete the move Monday after business hours.  When the division opens Tuesday morning, it will be in the new space without interruption of service to the public.  Each work area will have its own camera station.  Those will not be operational until May of 2011, when the state makes that change in all its facilities.  According to Canyon County Building and Maintenance Director Andy Eveland, whose staff remodeled the facility, Canyon County is the first county in the state to have a facility with camera stations at every work area.  When the cameras become operational, this will enable staff to take driver’s license photos without leaving their station, improving service to the public.
