Prescription Discount Cards available online

Canyon County residents interested in immediately and conveniently obtaining a Prescription Discount Card may now do so on the internet.

County residents can visit www.caremark.com/naco 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to print a live ID card featuring your county name and seal.  Savings are available immediately at any participating pharmacy.  To print an ID card, access www.caremark.com/naco and select “Print a card,”
 utilize the map tool to enter your zip code or select your state and county, then select “next” and the ID card is generated for printing
.  Once it’s printed, you may use the card immediately at a participating pharmacy.  Since its inception in mid-February, the Canyon County Prescription Drug Card program has saved county residents $110,237.74, or an average of $8.85 per prescription; a savings of 22.92 percent.  The program is free, and cards are also available at many participating pharmacies in Canyon County, as well as in the courthouse, the Elections Office, and Middleton and Caldwell city halls.  “The NACo prescription discount card offers significant savings for the uninsured and underinsured residents of our county, and even those fortunate to have prescription coverage can use the card to save money on drugs that are not covered by their health plan.  Residents do not have to be Medicare beneficiaries to be eligible for this program,” said Commission Chair David Ferdinand, who pointed out that 5,446 people have used the card since February.  For assistance with the program, call toll-free 1-877-321-2652 or visit www.caremark.com/naco.
