Deb Root receiving the 2017 4-H Outstanding Volunteer Award from Tina Holmquist, 4-H Program Coordinator for the University of Idaho.

Deb Root, who works as a Planner II for the Canyon County Development Services Department, was recently named the winner of the 2017 Outstanding Volunteer Award by the Canyon County 4-H program.  The award is given each year to a 4-H volunteer that has gone above and beyond in their service to the program.  Root has been involved in 4-H for most of her life, starting as a youth member and leader in Ada County.  She has been part of the Canyon County 4-H program for the past ten years where she has been very involved with the 4-H youth programs at both the county and district levels.  She has also served as one of the directors of the District II Horse Camp for the past six years, where they host kids from seven counties at the 4-H camp in Donnelly, Idaho each June.  Congratulations, Deb, on your much deserved recognition as the 2017 4-H Outstanding Volunteer!
