Bryan Taylor, Canyon County Prosecutor, announced today that Jesus G. Gomez, age 28, of Nampa, was sentenced by the Honorable Bradly S. Ford for the felony crime of Sexual Battery of a Minor.
Judge Ford sentenced Gomez to 3 years fixed, followed by 12 years indeterminate, for a total unified sentenced of 15 years in prison. Judge Ford also ordered Gomez to register as a sex offender, submit a DNA sample to the Idaho database, and have no contact with the victims for the duration of the sentence. Gomez was also ordered to pay a $5,000 civil penalty and a $1,000 fine along with court costs.
Gomez was arrested on a felony warrant in March 2017 after an investigation by the Nampa Police Department revealed he had inappropriate sexual relations with three teenage girls at his house during the month of June 2016. According to police, Gomez met the girls at Anime convention and invited them to come back to his house in Nampa where they engaged in oral sex and sexual intercourse.
During sentencing, Judge Ford said, “looking just on its surface, nowhere in here is any sign of any intent to have a meaningful relationship. This is just sexual exploitation and manipulation. Period.”
“The defendant in this case used and abused these teenage girls for his own sexual gratification, and caused tremendous emotional damage to each of them,” said Deputy Prosecutor Erica Kallin. “I’m thankful he’s headed to prison for the protection of society.”
