The Canyon Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Erasmo Alcala Diaz, the 51-year-old Mexican national wanted on a felony warrant for killing his girlfriend at their home near Wilder on June 11, 2015. Detectives say Diaz shot 39-year-old Amparo Godinez Sanchez multiple times inside the couple’s home on Red Top Road while children were present. He then fled the scene before authorities arrived and later abandoned his vehicle shortly after the crime near Adrian, OR, where he is known to have family and friends in the area. The location of the abandoned vehicle is also Diaz’s last known location.
Erasmo Diaz is described as 5’8”, 165 pounds, with a medium build, green eyes and brown hair. He has no known tattoos and the thumb on his left hand is missing. He is considered armed and dangerous. This is the second domestic violence related shooting that has resulted in serious injury or death within the last 18 months where the primary suspect is still on the run. Nampa Police and The Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force continue their search for 46-year-old Raudel Gonzalez of Nampa. Gonzalez is wanted for shooting and seriously injuring his wife at their Nampa home on May 29, 2014 while children were present. Gonzalez, like Diaz, fled the scene of the shooting before authorities arrived and later abandoned his car near Lake Lowell, which was his last known location.
